Yesterday I was speechless reading the paper. One of the earthquake victim in Sorong expressed a wonder of the very late response to help them. He said, ” People in Jakarta were busily making huge demonstrations to help Palestinians but here, to us in Sorong, they did give no damn at all.” (Kompas daily, page 4, Thursday edition, January 8, 2009).
It hit me hard, Pal. I wrote that piece of “cry for help” on my facebook and got some responds from some dear friends. My Papuan-born-movie-director friend, Viva Westi, added some painful information about the “always forgotten brothers and sisters” there. Isnt’ it the thruth that we’re always left behind, Westi said. My other pal, Renny, posted a note that was very helpful for those who want to send a little contribution for our very own Papuan earthquake victims.
I knew it is a little late, but I do believe in hope, there is always hope!
Here are those addresses from Renny:

RITA : arigato gosaimas, Lik, merci. merci…, kapan reunian lagi kita?
Makasih.
RITA : Silakan Rekan Dexter, welcome, and thanks. Semoga taman bacaan Anda segera terwujud ya. Great job!
Good for you for reporting the underreported …!
RITA : They’re not forgotten, Chris. Thanks for the support!
Hi Mbak,
Although its rather late, but I’ll contact them.
Thanks for the info.
Harry
RITA: Better late than never, Mas Harry. But, the problem is, I think those addresses’re simply unreacable. I have tried to contact them via email, since the first day I got those email addresses but nobody ever replied it. I strongly recommend you to turn into another option like sending a Rp 5000/text message from Telkomsel for Papua program. A little help is still a help, right…
” People in Jakarta were busily making huge demonstrations to help Palestinians but here, to us in Sorong, they did give no damn at all.”
jaipongan diurusin, koruptor, maling dibiarin…
Ok, seriously, I cursed myself for neglecting my right to vote for West Java Gov last year. One vote matters, so it should be my fault that we end up with these misogynist executives.
